Gdansk, Poland
Gdansk, Poland
Nov. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Poland Culinary Vacations, Inc. has added two new cooking trips to its 2012 line-up. "Coastal Cooking in Pomerania and Gdansk", a 7-day culinary vacation in the Baltic Sea coastal region of Poland, takes place in the beautiful city of Gdansk, as well as Sopot, Gdynia and Malbork. "A Three-Day Culinary Adventure Around Warsaw" includes cooking, sightseeing and tasting in the city’s most popular places. Dates for these cooking vacations are posted on company's Web site: http://www.polandculinaryvacations.com

"Coastal Cooking in Pomerania and Gdansk" follows a custom-designed itinerary created in collaboration with local people. This trip features hands-on and demonstration-style cooking lessons, visits to local markets, and opportunities to learn crafts from resident artists. Participants will sample breads, beers, and world-renowned vodkas made in the area. In addition to preparing regional cuisine with local cooks, participants will learn from a professional chef at the Pomerania Culinary Academy in Gdansk. For history buffs there are guided excursions to museums and monuments. The trade union “Solidarity” began in a Gdansk shipyard, led by Nobel Peace Prize recipient Lech Walesa. And the first battle of WWII took place here. The itinerary includes visits to cultural and historic attractions, in Old Town Gdansk and nearby cities, that include the Teutonic Knights castle in Malbork, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Accommodations are in a beautiful countryside palace and at a 4-star hotel in Gdansk.

If you want to extend your vacation to Poland, or only have time for a short adventure, Poland Culinary Vacations has added "A Three-Day Culinary Adventure Around Warsaw" to its schedule. In addition to cooking and eating gourmet meals, this trip features visits to gardens, museums, and food markets, accompanied by an expert guide. For a more in-depth experience of Warsaw and the surrounding region, the company offers the 7-day adventure "A Taste of Poland in Mazovia and Warsaw".
