Pro Bono Roll of Honor Eligibility
According to the Philadelphia Courts First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, an attorney may be eligible to be named on the 2011 Pro Bono Roll of Honor if he or she provided pro bono services to a client or client group for a case pending before the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania from January 1, 2011 to October 1, 2011. Moreover, the lawyer must provide legal services in private practice.
It is widely known that in order for work to be considered pro bono, professional work must be provided voluntarily and without payment. As such, for a lawyer to be included on the Pro Bono Roll of Honor, it is required by the Philadelphia Courts First Judicial District of Pennsylvania that he or she can neither receive payment nor have any expectation of receiving payment for services rendered. In addition, an attorney is required to have provided services to a client or client group who was without the necessary means to pay another attorney for the services, or to have arranged, executed, or ran an initiative to widen the reach of pro bono legal services in the courts.
Legal Support when the Unpredictable Happens
As the world operates in unexpected ways, most people who require legal counsel and assistance never anticipate that they would ever have to.
