Announcing launch of GoCabrera.com

The town of Cabrera, located on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic is not generally recognized as a Tourist Town, however it offers a very specialized style of vacation for those seeking something very different from the "All inclusive" resort

Nov. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- “Cabrera is a small town with little tourism infrastructure”, so says the Wikipedia description of the town, although it also goes on to say, “Cabrera is considered one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic”. That description is certainly true, but the former belies the very special type of tourism for which Cabrera has become renowned for those who have been fortunate enough to discover its beauty and attractions.  It is certainly true, and perhaps just as well, that there are no “All Inclusive” hotels or resorts in Cabrera. The only hotel worthy of the name, La Catalina, sits in the hills above the town providing expansive views of the coast and Atlantic Ocean.
Vacation accommodation in Cabrera is almost exclusively restricted to privately owned, fully staffed, ocean front villas, who offer a style of holiday normally reserved for the rich and famous.  Those seeking a vacation with privacy and a level of service no hotel or resort can hope to match.
Vacationers here are not looking for the boisterous nightlife found in the” package holiday” resort towns of Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete. Visitors here are looking for a relaxing laid-back style of holiday where personal attention and pampering are the order of the day. Almost all the villas offer beauty and health treatments including massages, facials, spa treatments and in some cases yoga or you can make an appointment to visit one of the local salons that specialize in a wide range of therapies. That is not to say that vacationers are restricted to their villa for the whole of their stay.  There is plenty to do and see in and around Cabrera, most within a few minutes drive from the town.
Cabrera is conveniently situated in the middle of a wide selection of some of the most beautiful beaches you could find anywhere in the world. Some like La Entrada and Playa Grande are kilometers in length and open to the Atlantic Ocean, others are small bays or sheltered coves like Playa Diamante where the sea is only a couple of feet deep for up to 100 meters from the shore.  Playa Grande Golf Course, often compared to Pebble Beach, is only 15 minutes away with uncrowded fairways and magnificent views to enjoy whatever your standard of golf.
There are also plenty of tours and excursions on offer as well.  Visit Lake Du Du and the Blue Lagoon, the Saltadero waterfall, Gri Gri Lagoon in Rio san Juan or enjoy a Safari into the Dominican countryside. Further afield are opportunities to go scuba diving or snorkeling, windsurfing, kite boarding, deep-sea fishing, cave diving, white water rafting or visiting attractions such as Ocean World or The Monkey Jungle with its zip lining courses for those feeling adventurous.
Cabrera offers a vacation with a big difference and is there to be discovered by those looking for a new holiday experience.  You can find all the information on a new website http://gocabrera.com
