Nov. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- The University of Akron launched an academic program to battle rust. Offering the first-in-the-United-States undergraduate degree in corrosion and reliability engineering, the university aims to produce an army of professional rust removers.

However, for minor rust problems, MyRustRemoval advises that proven effective and safe rust removal product must be used instead. Particularly, it suggests the use of Rusterizer.

The estimated 400 billion dollars worth of damages that rust is causing the United States annually is what the program specifically targets to address. And though, at present, the degree just got 30 enrolled students, the project director of the corrosion and reliability engineering program, Sue Louscher, expects the number to increase.

According to Louscher, the program is of strong industry applicability. And for that she is confident that it will grow in the coming years.

“Surely, you have already known that rust is a major industrial problem. In any building, it is a threat. Even you, for sure, have dealt with it, one way or another. But did you know that there is now an academic program for rust removal?”

“According to statistics, rust is costing United States $400 billion worth of damages every year. To resolve that, the University of Akron aims to produce professionals to battle the corroding of metal. Launching a corrosion engineering initiative in 2006, the university is now offering an undergraduate degree in corrosion and reliability engineering.”

“Opened since the fall of 2010, the program now has 30 students. And because it presents strong industry applicability, Sue Louscher, the program's project director believes that enrollment for it will climb in the coming semester.”

“Though Northeast Ohio has tried to shake the stigma of its association with the Rust Belt, a growing cadre of researchers and undergraduates at the University of Akron gladly has taken on the role of what university president Luis Proenza has dubbed “rust busting.”

“The university isn't training students how to touch up a bit of rust on a hub cap, but rather is working to create an army of professionals to tackle the estimated $400 billion in damage that corrosion causes each year in the United States. And with the looming retirement of experts in rust prevention, the university also is eyeing lucrative job opportunities for its graduates.”

“The University of Akron launched its corrosion engineering initiative in 2006, but the centerpiece of the program — a first-in-the- nation undergraduate degree in corrosion and reliability engineering — kicked off in fall 2010.”

Rust is an expensive threat. Nonetheless, the worse of its damages can be prevented. According to MyRustRemoval, at the first sight of corrosion, rust removal process must be implemented.

When treating a small rust formation though, hiring a professional to do rust treatment is not a prudent step. Instead, MyRustRemoval suggests the use of Rusterizer. With the product, anybody can implement a rust removal that is inexpensive and effective. Apart from that, the treatment is made safe given that Rusterizer is an organic cleaner.
