On February 26, 2012 all eyes will be on Daytona Beach for the Daytona 500, known as The Great American Race. The season-opening NASCAR NEXTEL Cup event garners attention as the largest audience in motorsports. From the historic high banks of the track itself, to the thrills of seeing what it’s all about, fans love the energy of the Daytona International Speedway.
This year the Daytona 500 race will feature three surprises;
• The most popular woman race car driver, Popular Indy Car starlet Danica Patrick will be making her NASCAR debut. Patrick of Go Daddy fame is the third woman to ever race in the Daytona 500 and will be making her NASCAR debut.
• The 500 pace car will be an import; the 2012 Toyota Camry will be setting the pace and has unseated the Detroit automakers for only the second time since the inaugural Dayton 500 race in 1959.
• The famous Bahama House hotel in Daytona Beach will be holding its first ever “Daytona 2012 – Be a Part of the 500 History” contest featuring a free hotel stay and free race tickets.
Today the renowned Bahama House is announcing a new social media based contest designed to let one lucky family live the 2012 Daytona 500 race experience with a luxury hotel room and free race tickets! The Bahama House website and Facebook pages will feature all of the contest details.
Consistently ranked as the number one hotel in Daytona Beach by TripAdvisor.com, the Bahama House is located just south of Daytona Beach’s bustling center, the 10-story resort has long played host to race teams and race car drivers. The resort is ideally located for guests who want to enjoy the hugely popular race at the Daytona International Speedway.
