About Casa Chapala Restaurante and La Familia:
Since 2006, Lupe and Lucina Barragan, owners of Casa Chapala Mexican Grill and Cantina, have been serving Austin authentic central region Mexican cuisine. The recipes are the same their abuelas used to make for them in the small town of Huitzila, Zacatecas near Guadalajara - the center of the tequila region of Jalisco. Their family still distills fine mezcal in the area. Together with their extended family and staff, they recreate a heartfelt Mexican experience, from the menu to their offering of over 150 tequilas to the friendly staff and warm hospitality. Each guest is welcomed like family. They truly embody their motto: “Mi casa es su casa.”
