Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund Appoints Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer

Nov. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- The Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund, a non-profit organization that awards deserving but financially challenged students with four-year scholarships to The Out-of-Door Academy, announced the appointment of Sandra Albano as Executive Director and Keith Reeves, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer.

“As we approach the one-year anniversary of Taylor’s passing, we honor his memory by giving students from various social and economic backgrounds the opportunity to experience the benefits of an independent, college preparatory education at The Out-of-Door Academy,” said Michael Emmons. “We are pleased to have the management experience of Sandra Albano and the financial expertise of Keith Reeves as we move toward our goal of raising $1 million to perpetuate the Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund.”

Albano brings to the organization more than 15 years of management experience in client services, community outreach, development, marketing, media relations and sales. She previously co-owned a Merle Norman Cosmetic franchise studio and worked as a property manager. Since relocating to the area from upstate New York, she has been an active volunteer and contributor to such local non-profits as All Children’s Hospital Women’s Guild of Sarasota, All Faiths Food Bank, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, First Presbyterian Church, the Humane Society of Sarasota County, The Out-of-Door Academy, and Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC).

Reeves is president and owner of Crescent Capital Advisors, a capital advisory and consulting service to private and public companies, family trusts and individuals. Prior to relocating with his family to the Sarasota area, he was co-founder of CBIZ , one of the largest business services companies in the country, with $700 million in revenue.

The Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund was created in the wake of Taylor’s tragic death in 2010 at the young age of 19. Taylor’s life, though cut short, was full of appreciation, gratitude, kindness and accomplishment. As a student at The Out-of-Door Academy, he excelled in academics and was a leader in sports, as co-captain of the baseball team and captain of the boys’ golf team. While the hole created by Taylor’s absence can never be filled, the Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund strives to carry on his spirit and energy by awarding four-year scholarships to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience all the benefits of an independent, college preparatory education at The Out-of-Door Academy.
