Nov. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Outsourcing, without question, is a tempestuous issue for Australian companies prior to and post GFC. However, as the Australian economy continues to flourish in partnership with India’s economic growth forecasts, expanding relations between the two countries is paramount and logical when meeting corporate growth objectives.

iApps, Australia’s leading mobile application developer, is one company that has expanded into India to help the company meet demand from domestic and international markets. With their Bangalore studio now entering full-scale production, iApps located an opportunity to strategically outsource, and implemented sound policy and procedure to ensure export objectives were met almost six months ahead of schedule.

iApps Chief Technical Officer, Andrew Longhorn said, “the downturn in global markets and the diminishing value of the U.S Dollar, has made the cost of production in Australia an inhibiting factor when meeting corporate growth objectives.  With our Indian team now in full production, our costs have decreased and we’re expanding at a phenomenal rate."

“We are really excited to build on our reputation as experts in the Web application development industry as we push further into new markets with our world-class, best-selling applications. Our corporate investment strategy remains focused on cutting edge innovation, and our investment in Bangalore talent is corresponding with this strategy."

“We’ve recruited some of Bangalore’s best and brightest minds, with over 500 potential job candidates arriving for interviews within the first day of hiring. This enthusiasm has had a great spill over effect for our headquarters here in Mooloolaba, as it’s allowed us to grow our staff numbers and invest in improved systems infrastructure."

“Expanding our presence outside of Australia is crucial, as the very nature of our industry is dependant on forging a global presence. Really, our primary motivation is so much more than simply outsourcing. We plan to send staff over to India and vice versa, strengthening economic-business ties between our home on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, and our second home in the city of Bangalore."

“Our policy of promoting workplace education and career advancement with Bangalore is working, and our commitment to sharing skill sets and knowledge has differentiated us from other companies who outsource purely to keep costs down.

“Every morning we’re video conferencing, sharing our expertise on varying subjects with our team in India, keeping clear channels of communication open whilst collectively improving upon our skill sets”, said Longhorn.

Chris Nevin, a Software Architect for the Australian wing of iApps said, “Its great that we’re able to learn from each other and our staff in India are incredibly experienced. We’re currently converting the code for one of our most popular apps into Android format, so having extra staff to help out with this mammoth task is a real bonus.

“From Human Resources, to marketing, our Indian team are fantastic to work with, and it has been nice to witness them find a place in the corporate culture we’re fostering between the two offices”, said Nevin.

Shreeya Raju relocated from Delhi with her family to work for iApps and is now the Human Resources manager for the rapidly growing Bangalore office. “Our office here in India is capturing the Asia minor market, whereas our Australian headquarters continues to get its business from their domestic market and major trading partners such as the United Kingdom, Europe and the America’s.

“We’re looking forward to 2012, as our presence in not only Bangalore and Mooloolaba grows, but around the world also. It’s going to be a good year”, said Raju.
