Celebrating the Holidays with Sobriety / Online Radio Show

Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Psychotherapist, addictions counselor and educator Cheryl Adler, will host a live weekly radio show from the studios at Rockland World Radio, located in Nyack, New York beginning November 22.
Listeners are invited to tune in to “Cheryl Adler’s Sober University Radio Show,” broadcasted online weekly at http://rocklandworldradio.com. The 30-minute radio show will air Tuesday evenings at 8pm beginning November 22 through February 14, 2012.  A diverse selection of guests will also join the host, with archived radio programs available on rocklandworldradio.com.
“I’m thrilled to be able to reach a worldwide audience via the air and Internet. So many people seek professional advice during the holidays as the season unleashes more triggers. I want listeners to find hope and solutions for a more fulfilling season,” she said. “My approach is to facilitate a transformation of self and lifestyle, not merely quitting a behavior,” added Cheryl.
In her book published last year, Sober University, Your Next Step to Successful Recovery, the author offers supportive strategies to find sobriety and wellness for those struggling with various addictions at any stage.  Writing with a compassionate and insightful perspective, Cheryl shares over 25 years of professional experience working with clients who have invited her into their world.
The weekly broadcast will feature various guests, including Carmine Thompson the drug and alcohol National Master Interventionist. Other guests planned are veterinarian at Valley Cottage Animal Hospital, Dr. Jessica Downing, who will discuss the benefits of pet therapy, hypnotist Bob Pargament of the Westchester Hypnosis Center and 12 Step Counselor, Dr. Frederick Drobin, Ph.D. explores spiritual enrichment during the holiday season.

Cheryl Adler is a Nyack-based licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Diplomate and Fellow with the American Psychotherapy Association. With a master’s degree in Special Education, Cheryl has worked with developmentally challenged children, battered women, brain-injured adolescents and adults, and people with chronic and terminal illness. Cheryl is an OASAS Treatment Provider for the State of New York (Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services), and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
