Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Comtrol has been working with SuperUser Solutions in the US who supply systems for system automation and supply chain solutions. They needed to connect both a serial device and an Ethernet device to a CompactLogix PLC. After trying a range of other solutions they used the DeviceMaster-UP.
Using Comtrol’s unique DualConnectPlus™ Technology SuperUser Solutions found that they were able to quickly and easily configure a one-port DeviceMaster-UP to connect both the serial and Ethernet devices to their PLC via Ethernet/IP. This saved them time, money, and met their dual connectivity needs.
SuperUser Solutions used the DeviceMaster UP to gather outside data and send it to the PLC so that the collected information could be easily logged and processed.
The DeviceMaster UP technology, combined with SuperUser Solutions’ service and technical expertise, has proven to be a successful combination. The customer is still in the testing and certification phase of this project, but once this is complete, they are likely to install many more of these systems in the future.
Tony Elvidge, VP Sales and Marketing at Comtrol Europe commented “This use of the DeviceMaster-UP by SuperUser Solutions is another example of how Comtrol’s products have been used to solve industrial Ethernet connectivity problems.”
