Compression Stocking Manufacturer SIGVARIS Sponsors Employee Raising Money to End Alzheimer’s

Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- PEACHTREE CITY, GA – Wearing compression socks is a huge trend in sports right now. That’s why SIGVARIS is proud to announce that the company is sponsoring one of their own employee athletes who is running the Philadelphia Marathon on Nov. 20. The SIGVARIS employee (along with 99 other runners) is raising money to help end Alzheimer’s. As of today, the group has raised more than $65,000 and hopes to raise more than $100,000.

As one of the 100 runners raising money for the cause, Jen DiRenzo, a SIGVARIS Sales Supervisor, has been training for the event and raising money for the past several months. In addition to the money donated by SIGVARIS, OrthoStep, a medical supply store who carries SIGVARIS products in Lakewood, N.J., also donated to the cause.

DiRenzo and her running partner have both been using several products in SIGVARIS’ Sports Line to help them train including the Performance Sleeve, the Performance Sock and the Athletic Recovery Sock to help them recover faster.

“I have been training in both the sleeves and the socks all summer/fall. They have made a huge difference in how my legs feel,” DiRenzo says. “They have given my legs a ton of energy and cut down on pain after my long runs. I couldn’t imagine doing this training without these products.”  Both DiRenzo and her running partner plan to wear SIGVARIS’ newest sports product, The Performance Sleeve, during the race.
