Holidays Kick Off At Bridgeport Village With Tree Lighting And Beatniks Holiday Concert, Nov.

Bridgeport Village will kick off its annual holiday festivities with The Beatniks Holiday Concert presented by Audi, a live performance during the Light up the Night tree-lighting ceremony Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Nov. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- TIGARD, Ore. - Bridgeport Village, Portland’s premier shopping and dining destination will kick off its annual holiday festivities with The Beatniks Holiday Concert presented by Audi, a live performance during the Light up the Night tree-lighting ceremony Friday, November 25, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in center court.

The most anticipated event of the season at Bridgeport Village, Light Up the Night will feature a special live concert by local group The Beatniks. Performing festive music from decades past, The Beatniks will help welcome Santa as he arrives at 7:30 p.m. aboard the Bridgeport Express, the center’s 35-passenger, solar-operated holiday train.

Upon his arrival Santa will choose one child from the audience to assist him in the official lighting of the first-eve live holiday tree at Bridgeport Village. The 35-foot noble tree arrived from Washougal, Wash. via crane in mid-November.

“We’re very excited to kick off the holiday season with The Beatniks performing during our annual Light up the Night ceremony. Our most popular event of the season, this year with our first-eve live tree, a new Santa house and a much-loved band performing, it’s sure to be a an amazing evening,” said Kiki Hanover, Regional Marketing Director of CenterCal Properties, owners of Bridgeport Village.

Also new this year is Santa’s house. Provided by the Home Builders Association Professional Remodelers Organization.

Light up the Night Event Schedule
6:30 p.m. – The Beatniks Holiday Concert
7:30 p.m. – Santa arrives in center court aboard the Bridgeport Express
7:45 p.m. – Holiday tree lighting
7:30 p.m. – Santa receives visitors
7:45 p.m. – The Beatniks continue to delight shoppers
8:30 p.m. – Concert ends

2011 Holiday Season Events at Bridgeport Village:

The Beatniks Holiday Concert presented by Audi
Bridgeport Village will host local band, The Beatniks, for the annual Light up the Night holiday concert under the gazebo in center court. During intermission Santa will arrive aboard the Bridgeport Express to light the live, locally grown Holiday Tree and will be available for photos in his new house, built by the Home Builders Association Professional Remodelers Organization.

All Aboard The Bridgeport Express
Holiday shoppers will be invited to climb aboard the 35-passenger, solar-operated holiday train and ride it to their destinations in Bridgeport Village. The Bridgeport Express is a 40-foot-long trackless passenger train with four-foot wide cars to accommodate children and adults. Rides are free and available for riders of all ages.
Daily: Friday, November 25 – Thursday, December 22
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 3 – 5 p.m.

Photos with Santa
Children are invited to visit Santa in his new home, built by the Home Builders Association Professional Remodelers Organization in center court. Making Spirits Bright
Bridgeport Village will host the annual Making Spirits Bright fundraising and shopping weekend to benefit Candlelighters for Children with Cancer, Project Pooch and a local food bank. Wristbands will be available for $10; 100% of the proceeds will benefit the participating charity of purchaser’s choice.

Breakfast with Santa
Kids and families will be invited to join Santa for one of three breakfasts in support of local non-profit organizations. Tickets for Breakfast with Santa will be $10 per person and include delicious food, entertainment with Radio Disney, a visit with Santa and lots of fun.
