Nov. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- ~Introduces Toy libraries across the city~

In our country, many children lack the basic necessity of growing up. Due to financial or any other constraints many underprivileged children are denied access to simple things like toys or books. In a survey conducted by Wockhardt Foundation, it was observed that these children are begging for food and wasting their time and talent in unsocial commitments. Hence, Samina Khorakiwala, Wockhardt Foundation, saw the need to fill this gap through a unique concept, Khel Khel Mein.

Khel Khel Mein is an initiative that blends both improving the quality of life of the socio economically under-privileged strata of the society and spreading time-tested human values through appropriate educational packages directed at students at various levels.  By introducing Toy Libraries across the city, this program gives a chance for children to grow into well rounded individuals.  Khel Khel Mein programme (KKM) started off as a toy library for children in slum areas of the city but is now rapidly evolving into a value-based educational service for these children through an imaginative blend of access to toys and interactive learning of human values.

The toy libraries are equipped with toys that are simple to play with and yet at the same time stimulate the brain power of the children, with the help of trained teachers who are multifaceted in their own way. In addition to helping with toys, these teachers also read stories, engage the children in challenging and competitive activities and yet foster a sense of friendship and harmonious living. Khel Khel Mein in short, is a movement aimed at value-based character building for the young citizens of our country which is seamlessly carried forward in the form of value based living courses as they move along in life.    The mission of Khel Khel Mein is “values and good habits through fun and play”.
