Bi-Mart signs distribution agreement with LoopRope™, LLC: revolutionary tie-down will be carried in 72 stores just in time for Black Friday

Nov. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- EUGENE, Ore. – Pacific-Northwest-based Bi-Mart Corporation recently signed a distribution agreement with LoopRope™, LLC.  LoopRope™ is a revolutionary fastening system that was invented in 2009 as a safer and more convenient alternative to traditional bungee cords.  The Medford, Oregon product is scheduled to go on the shelves this month, just in time for Black Friday, the day-after-Thanksgiving shopping frenzy that most retailers say is their biggest sales day of the year.

According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), 212 million individuals hit the shopping aisles on Black Friday last year. They spent an estimated $45 billion, or roughly $365 per person.  Dick Stitz, who has been buying Black Friday merchandise for Bi-Mart for more than 30 years, said, “Things fluctuate, but we're lucky that so much of our core business is basic goods.”  LoopRope™ inventor Jeff Dahl is pleased to be adding his one-of-a-kind fastening system to the store’s diverse inventory that includes housewares, hardware, power tools, sporting and automotive supplies.

Dahl hatched the idea of a knot-free tie down in his garage in Medford after a frustrating trip to the dump.  "I was not good at tying knots and when I did I was still worried they would come undone and my stuff would fly out the back of my truck. I was coming up with different prototypes, trying all these different things," says Dahl.  Eventually his trial-and-error led to the LoopRope™, a shock cord crimped into permanent loops and secured with LoopClips™, which are double gated carabiners.

LoopRope™ has been picked up by several US retail giants such as Walmart, Camping World, Cabela’s, BiMart and Amazon.  Also, retail placement internationally in Ireland, Japan, Australia, Canada and Lebanon.  Dahl is rushing to keep up with orders, a good problem to have for a new business in this economy.  "It's kind of amazing (that) it's growing like this in a recession. But then I think, “well shoot, the stuff works, why not?” Dahl said.
