CROWN POINT, IN (November 7, 2011) - The Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is inviting both owners and upcoming leaders in Northwest Indiana area businesses to attend their annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards, or E-Day. This year, two separate portions will be added to the already existing luncheon and awards ceremony making it an action-packed day full of learning and networking opportunities.
The biggest addition to SBDC’s E-Day is the new Leadership Symposium. This is geared towards business owners and high-talent employees. There will be four different educational seminars with topics including: leadership, sales and marketing, financial health and talent selection.  Attendees of the Leadership Symposium will get quality networking opportunities with award winners, E-Day alumni and sponsors at the luncheon and awards, as well as during the networking cocktail from 3:30-5:00 after the last seminar as well as a certificate of completion from SBDC.
During each session, owners, leaders and potential leaders will explore key competencies, skills, and motivations required for successful leadership, key elements of developing and refining a customer focused Value Proposition, learn how to use financial statements as a decision making tool and learn proven methods for hiring right people.
The Alumni Club, the second addition to the luncheon and awards, will also be recognizing past winners of E-Day awards and sharing their success stories and ways to win, in both business practices and in leadership. The Alumni Club consists of an exclusive network of entrepreneurial success stories and Northwest Indiana’s leaders in development and innovation.
This annual luncheon draws over 500 business leaders to honor the growing and leading businesses in our area. E-Day showcases the area’s businesses that are making a mark as well as champions who encourage the entrepreneurial spirit
The event starts at 7:30 with the first 2 seminars, followed by the luncheon and awards beginning at 11:15 ending the day with the last 2 seminars and a networking cocktail reception from 3:30-5:00. Tickets for the event range from $40.00 for the luncheon and awards to $140.00 for a full day pass.
