Nov. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Global Medtracker, your gateway to quality healthcare abroad, can now be followed on Facebook and Twitter.

Global Medtracker is a web initiative which aggregates and analyzes the best medical travel sites on the internet; it also posts the most up-to-date news stories affecting the medical travel/tourism industry.

Global Medtracker lists a complete range of resources for the medical consumer--coordinators, facilitators, hospitals, clinics, insurers, accreditation agencies, and print resources, so consumers can make a more informed decision about their healthcare.

Global Medtracker has been developed to help the uninsured, the under-insured, the wait-listed, and  consumers who need medical treatment that is not covered under their existing medical insurance policies.

It also promotes the various publics engaged in providing medical tourism/travel services.

Global Medtracker is updated at least once a week and is planning to develop more interactive features as it moves forward.

Global Medtracker is an internet initiative launched in 2010 to educate people about the fast-growing field of medical travel/tourism.

Recent political/economic uncertainty has created an increasing pool of medical consumers who are finding it difficult to afford and access iodcr quality medical care. Global Medtracker was developed to help these people discover viable alternatives for their healthcare needs, as well as to promote the various publics engaged in providing medical travel/tourism services.

The editor of Global Medtracker is Steve Schackne, a recently retired teacher, who worked for 25 years in various overseas posts, where he was able to gain first-hand knowledge about the medical travel/tourism field.

Steve has spent many years working with socio-economically diverse communities both in the U.S. and abroad, his most recent post being a U.S. State Department fellowship to work with the blind in China.
