PRLog -- It was a big day in Cedar Park, Texas on November 12 as several hundred turned out on a breezy but pleasant Veterans memorial monument dedication at Cedar Park's Veterans memorial park. Public officials, military personnel, veterans and families turned out to view the unveiling of the new monument. The ceremony started with a DPS helicopter flyover and a Texas National Guard paratrooper falling gracefully from the sky with a Texas flag waving in the wind. As families watched and honored those that served in the military, dignitaries read from former presidents acknowledgement of the event as people sat and admired the colorful monument decorated with historical images depicting war veterans efforts and sacrifices. This day's event was approved back in 2008 by the Cedar Park city council, was three years in the making and was organized by City of Cedar Park managers and communications director Jennie Huerta and her staff. The park has been open to the public and is located at 2525 New Hope Drive, near the intersection of RM1431 and New Hope.
