Brian Oram Presents at Private Well Symposium

Nov. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- WILKES-BARRE, PA—November 11, 2010—Brian Oram, a professional geologist and soil scientist and founder of B.F. Environmental Consultants, will be speaking at the Northeast Private Well Symposium in Southbury, Conn., on November 14, 2011.

Oram's presentation is entitled “Marcellus Shale—Getting the Waters Tested,” and will outline the issues facing Pennsylvania related to the lack of awareness, regulation, information, and understanding of groundwater and private wells. There will be a brief discussion of the Marcellus Shale Development and the water quality of the flowback and production water.

The information presented in the session is based on 400+ certified baseline water testing results for wells and surfacewater in Northeast Pennsylvania. The session will also highlight the citizen outreach efforts of B.F. Environmental Consultants Inc., the creation of the Citizen Water Quality Geospatial Database working with Wilkes University, and the success of some grassroots programs in Northeastern Pennsylvania to help fix poorly constructed private wells: such as The Pocono Northeast RC&D Council Private Well Owner Initiative.
