Dec. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Sticky Blocks takes the block slider into new territory with cute, challenging puzzles and a brand new gameplay twist. The most beautiful block slider yet!

Jeff Rollason of AI Factory Ltd and Tony Warriner, co-designer and programmer of Revolution's Broken Sword series, have collaborated to create a new follow-on to AI Factory's already successful puzzle game, Move it!. Sticky Blocks aims to take the ever popular puzzle genre to a new level in terms of graphical and ui quality, and introduces a significant new twist to delight fans of puzzle games.

The forerunner and root for this new class of puzzles was Move it!, released back in July 2010. This drew from AI Factory's considerable 25 years experience in AI to break way from the restricted block-sliders in popular use (mostly Rush hour clones), to try and hike up the genre to provide a richer and entertaining puzzle type. The AI needed to create these is genuinely pretty tough, but AI Factory did manage to crack it. Move it! was a success. but was also a first test Android product for AI Factory. With now some 10 Android games now under their belt they wanted to return to this new type of puzzle to carry it forward to create a new level of puzzle experience, but based on the same concepts

Having learnt from this experience, Sticky Blocks has certainly raised the bar in block sliders, by providing a wider and richer puzzle experience with significantly added polish. The earlier Move it! had already expanded the slider genre to use more freely moving and interesting shapes, unlike other more restrictive puzzles. Sticky Blocks takes this a step further with Sticky shapes that fuse when joined. This adds a very significant further twist as a bad choice of sticky join may make things impossible!

Sticky Blocks now also ramps up the general puzzle experience with multiple and layered animations and also cute voiceovers to respond to your play and to reward you on completion. Look out for bugs hiding under the Sticky pieces and collect gems to trade for hints and more puzzles. The game has rewards, so if you get really stuck, you can collect butterflies to earn puzzle bombs that allow you to solve the whole puzzle in one go.

Watch out for hidden references in the product splash screen, which pays tribute to the real founder of the block slider genre and also to the author of the world's first computer chess champion.

Sticky Blocks also fully supports the iOS GameCenter, with leaderboards and achievements. It also provides options for cool background music and choice of voiceovers and backgrounds. Dropbox is also supported, with iCloud synchronisation coming soon.

Review: "With 600 levels, Sticky Blocks is absolutely enormous in size and will certainly provide a challenge no matter how persistent you are as a puzzle nut. ..it is the sheer pleasure and ease experienced when moving the blocks around and the addictiveness Sticky Blocks provides that will keep you coming back for more."
