Nov. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Offering an on-trend, personalised look for public spaces, commercial environments and retail areas, ‘New Direction,’ ‘Modern Nostalgia,’ ‘Summer Jewels’ and ‘Surreal Botanical’ are the four distinctive looks in the Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

These four trends have been developed by the Crown Paints Colour Influences panel, a team of distinguished thinkers and stylists who have joined together for the project.

Featuring a bold clash of acid neons and neutral shades, New Direction captures the spirit of the post-industrial age, while a more delicate and subtle palette - shaped by the Great British seaside - is found in Modern Nostalgia, which offers a sophisticated take on pastels, based on a vintage theme for a grown-up audience.

Summer Jewels, inspired by retro Palm Springs, draws together blue tones to work with dazzling effect alongside yellows and pinks to create a fresh, clean and upbeat palette, and finally, completing the 2012 collection is Surreal Botanical, a lush assortment of emerald greens, which marry with bold, bright shades to create a visual clash of the natural and the man-made.

Now these trends will inform the development of the Crown Paints interior and exterior portfolio within the specification sector, which includes Crown Trade, Sadolin and Sandtex Trade.

Crown Paints Colour Specialist, Kathryn Lloyd, said: “Colour is our passion. It informs and drives everything we do, so we are delighted to be able to unveil our 2012 trends.

“The colour palettes we have created feature the tones and shades we expect to see defining the design landscape going forward.

“Crown Paints continues to lead the way in colour forecasting, so we can expect to see these influences finding expression in a wide variety of commercial environments, including hotels, retail centres, offices, restaurants and public spaces.”

A dedicated Colour Service is provided by Crown Paints to specifers, offering a range of features including the Bespoke Colour Scheme service for high value projects, which provides a visualisation programme for clients using CGI software.

Face-to-face consultations and computer-aided design for interior schemes are also provided.

Vernon Kinrade, Crown Paints Specification Manager, said: “Crown Paints’ systems for specifiers, namely our Crown Trade interior range and Sadolin woodcare and Sandtex Trade exterior solutions, deliver the necessary performance and durability characteristics for a wide-range of environments, with a wide selection of colour choices and textures.
“Although colour is a personal choice, professional help can pay dividends to create an inspired environment.
“Aside from colour, it is important that high quality paint is selected to ensure a durable, longer-lasting and attractive finish. The Crown Paints Colour Service can help specifiers get the best aesthetic and performance solution for their project.”
In the New Year, Crown Paints will be unveiling its 2012 Autumn/Winter trends, which will be made available in February 2012.
