SIPP Into An Investment In Brazil

UK SIPPs (Self Invested Personal Pensions) not only give more control and choice of asset type compared to a traditional personal pension, but also allow investors to choose a tangible asset with good long-term growth potential.

Pre-development land qualifies as commercial land under SIPP rules. SIPPs carry additional benefits for UK investors in the form of tax relief on contributions and being exempt from capital gains tax, so a £20,000 land investment held in a SIPP could cost as little as £12,000 thanks to tax relief. Investments are managed by a Licensed UK based Trustee governed by UK Law, with all funds held in a protected Escrow Account in the investors name. Investors can then choose to use their investment to purchase a residential building plot or to exit with a cash return.

Ecocity Brasil is located in the Parnaiba River Delta in Northeast Brazil, one of the world’s most bio-diverse and beautiful regions. Within this, Ecoland Brasil comprises 1.171 acres of currently undeveloped land that is set to be transformed into a stylish development offering a range of house and apartment types, shops, restaurants and bars, and a wide variety of leisure facilities including an 18-hole golf course. The masterplan for Ecocity Brasil includes several four and five star hotels, further golf courses and world-class conference facilities.  Planning permission for the development is expected to be achieved in 2012 or soon after.

Brazil’s economy is going from strength to strength and Brazil’s GDP is set to outstrip the UK’s to become the sixth largest economy in the world by the end of next year, according to recent IMF reports. Rising tourism, falling interest rates and the lucrative oil industry are all giving further fuel to the booming economy. The country is reaping the benefit of huge investment, both through federal programmes and private investors, which are bringing about widescale improvements in infrastructure, housing and employment.
