Futterman & Lanza, LLP Welcomes Steven P. Block as New Partner
Law Firm Will Now Be Known as Futterman, Lanza & Block, LLP.
Mr. Block advises clients on all aspects of estate and elder law planning, including preparation of wills and trusts, as well as sophisticated tax and insurance planning. In addition, he assists clients in implementing intricate gift tax planning, including Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, and Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts. Mr. Block also provides counsel on probate matters, administration and tax planning of estates, and Surrogate’s Court proceedings.
In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Block is also a Certified Public Accountant and has extensive experience advising business clients on the organization, sale and liquidation of business entities, including the preparation of Shareholder Agreements, Family Limited Partnership Agreements and Limited Liability Company Operating Agreements.
Prior to merging his practice with Futterman & Lanza, Mr. Block was a Partner and Co-Chair of the Trusts and Estates department at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek in Uniondale. Mr. Block is a member of the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, where he currently serves on both the Estate Planning Committee and the Committee on Charitable Organizations. In addition, he is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County, Inc. and the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Mr. Block received his Juris Doctor from the University of California’s Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. He also graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
