Nov. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- During the last week of October, Amorcare Mobility Stores and Stoke City FC’s mascot ‘PotterMiss’, used eye-catching TGA mobility scooters to collect donations during the ‘Paint the Town Pink’ charity event in Newcastle-under-Lyme, that raised over £10,000 towards the Breast Cancer Campaign.

Andy Morgan, aged 50 and born locally in Silverdale, is the co-owner of Amorcare Mobility Stores and before setting up this business with his wife Nicky (41 from Kidsgrove), played professional football for Stoke City and gained an international cap for Wales. Following his time at Stoke FC he played all around the world and then became their Community Manager for over 10 years followed by 8 years at Wolverhampton Wanderers in a similar role. Today, Andy and Nicky are proud owners of Amorcare, which is a very successful mobility product specialist that really makes a difference to the lives of many elderly and less able locals. Even in these tough times for retailers, Amorcare and its high street showroom continue to go from strength-to-strength through a caring, customer-focused approach and the provision of quality, reliable products.

Andy explains: “As a business we fully believe in supporting charity events. As I have strong links with Stoke FC, I thought I would invite the club’s mascot, PotterMiss, to come along and help us collect donations whilst riding TGA mobility scooters. These TGA scooters are renowned nationally for their eye-catching looks so we thought we would use these to grab attention as we drove around Newcastle collecting money. Dave Budd who is a customer and member of the recently formed ‘Breeze Brigade’, which is a fantastic group of individuals who all own the same scooter, also assisted us on our TGA Breeze scooters. The three of us navigated our way through the centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme tooting our horns and rattling our collection buckets whilst selling photo opportunities with the attractive PotterMiss for £2. PotterMiss is a really popular character locally and together we managed to raise around £500 to add to the £10,000 total. It was a great day and I would like to thank PotterMiss and Dave for helping Amorcare raise this money along with all the generous people we met who donated towards the Breast Cancer Campaign. This charity does an amazing job and it is a fantastic feeling to know we beat last year’s grand total by over £3,000! The organiser Sheila Weightman has done a brilliant job and Amorcare would be delighted to support a similar event in the future.”

Representing Amorcare’s mobility scooter supplier, TGA Mobility, Tim Ross added: “Once again we are impressed by our dealer’s pro-active attitude towards its corporate social responsibilities and it does sound as if everyone worked really hard to collect donations including our Area Sales Manager Martyn Simpson. The latest range of TGA Breeze mobility scooters that Amorcare regularly recommends are indeed very striking which has resulted in popularity nationwide. We are glad that these attributes helped to attract attention and increased donations towards such a worthwhile cause.”
