One of the largest manufacturers of medical machines in Europe, have produced an IPL that can progressively, permanently remove blonde hair in 4 – 8 sessions.

But how is it done if standard IPL light specifically targets melanin in the hair? These hairs have no melanin to grab on to. Here’s a clue. How does the work of the light on the hair destroy the life of it so that it doesn’t return?

We know that the hair is heated so that the small blood vessels below the hair in the anagen phase are destroyed by the heat and therefore produces no more hair.

What would happen if wavelengths were used that directly target haemoglobin rather than melanin? Light would travel directly to the source of the hair’s nutrition, the small blood vessels which would also destroy the bulb. An IPL machine using wavelengths between 475nm and 600nm will do this. It’s almost so obvious that you have to wonder why it wasn’t developed earlier.
