Nov. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- MANCHESTER, Conn. – Onyx Moonshine, a Connecticut-made liquor, will be included in the exclusive gift bags at “The 45th Annual CMA Awards” on November 9th. CMA presenters and performers visiting the gift lounge will be given a bag of assorted high-end gifts, including a bottle of the Connecticut Moonshine.

Hosted by country music superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, “Country Music’s Biggest Night™” will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on November 9, 2011 and will broadcast domestically on the ABC Television Network (8pm EST). This year’s high-voltage lineup includes Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, Lady Antebellum, Steel Magnolia, Sara Evans, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Martina McBride.

Onyx Spirits Company is a Connecticut based liquor distillery, and the first company to produce moonshine in Connecticut since prohibition. Onyx Spirits Company founders Adam von Gootkin and Peter Kowalczyk released Onyx Moonshine, the company's first product, just five weeks ago.  It is now available in restaurants and liquor stores around Connecticut with new locations being added almost daily.

“The product has been selling out statewide, and we're excited for the opportunity to gain national exposure for our brand as well as a chance to bring some attention to Connecticut made products,” said von Gootkin.“This is an exciting time for us at Onyx Spirits Company. This is one of the first liquor products produced in Connecticut to garner national attention since Smirnoff Vodka was produced here way back when. We're looking forward to offering Onyx Moonshine to the very best in country music and we sincerely hope they enjoy drinking it as much as we do,” he added.

The first “CMA Awards Banquet and Show” was held in 1967. The following year, the CMA Awards was broadcast on NBC Television for the first time – making it the longest running, annual music awards program on network television. The Awards aired on NBC through 1971, on the CBS Television Network from 1972 through 2005, and has aired on ABC since 2006.
