eco International Awarded 2011 Supported Work Employer of the Year

The ACHIEVE Supported Employment Program recognized eco International as the “2011 Supported Work Employer of the Year,” at its Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Banquet on November 4th.

Nov. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- ACHIEVE is a non-profit agency serving 1,800 individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in Broome and Tioga Counties each year.

eco International has over 20 years experience in the electronics recycling industry.  Since March of this year, they have given five individuals from ACHIEVE the opportunity to work at their Vestal facility.

ACHIEVE recognized eco International as an effective partner committed to a positive work environment who offers flexible scheduling and job placement to individuals while helping them to succeed.

ACHIEVE has recognized eco International’s commitment and outstanding efforts in providing community employment and positive work experiences. eco International strives to make ACHIEVE Job Coaches feel welcome, allowing them open access at the job site to offer support.

In addition to the ACHIEVE award, eco International also received recognition from Senator Tom Libous of the NY State Senate District 52, Clifford Crouch of the NY State Assembly 107th District, NY State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, and Broome County Executive Patrick Brennan.

eco International is an ISO 14001:2004 Certified Recycler, EPA R2 Certified Recycler, and Green America Approved Business, located in Vestal, New York and serves a large customer base in New England and the Mid-Atlantic States. The ACHIEVE Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation was established in 1993, the result of two years of planning and development by ACHIEVE's Board of Directors (formerly Broome-Tioga ARC). The purpose of the Foundation is to raise funds, which will provide support now, and in the future, for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Broome and Tioga Counties.
