Nov. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- The Upper Baltimore County Business Bulletin ( http://www.upper-baltimore-business.com ) has been nominated for a 2011 Mobbie Award, in a competition sponsored by the Baltimore Sun to honor the best Maryland blogs.

Conducted annually since 2009, the competition includes awards for blogs and social media sites that are either operated by Marylanders or that focus topically or geographically on Maryland or areas within the state.

The competition organizes the awards into 30 subcategories, grouped into the five broad categories of Life, News, Sports, Social Media, and “Other.” In the Best Baltimore County blog subcategory, the Upper Baltimore County Business Bulletin is one of five nominees.

Nominations and final award votes come from registered readers of the Baltimore Sun. The closing date for nominations was October 30. The voting period, which began on October 31, continues until 5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern time on November 10.

“I’m honored that the Upper Baltimore County Business Bulletin has been nominated--and humbled, considering that we were nominated less than one month after commencing publication.” said W.C. Hayward, Editor and Publisher.

“It’s encouraging to see at this early stage that readers are already beginning to notice and appreciate our focused, hyperlocal coverage of businesses in northern Baltimore County.”
