Nov. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Smartphones these days are so much more than devices for calling and texting on. Music and multimedia capabilities are increasingly important, so let's look at two smartphones known for their multimedia capabilities – the HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio, and the Samsung Galaxy SII. Both are Android smartphones running Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

It was recently announced that HTC had bought a majority share in Beats Audio, a company owned by none other than the music legend Dr Dre. The HTC Sensation is the first handset to be released since that purchase.

The HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio is an upgraded and improved version of the HTC Sensation. Beats Audio hardware and in-ear headphones are included, of course, and while the audio quality on the original Sensation is good to say the least, with Beats Audio hardware and earphones, the Sensation XE promises to deliver studio quality performance. Upon plugging in the Beats Audio earphones, the XE switches to a profile that utilises the Beats Audio hardware, delivering the best possible sound in a smartphone. http://www.clove.co.uk/htc-sensation-xe-with-beats-audio

But that's not the only improvement.

The HTC Sensation XE picks up where its predecessor left off, but offers some impressive enhancements. The dual-core processor has been improved to 1.5GHz, the battery life has been increased to up to 550 minutes of talk time. It's also got an 8 megapixel camera a the back with dual LED flash, and a front-facing VGA camera.
The Samsung Galaxy SII may not have the touch of Dr Dre about it, but it has got an impressive set of features. It also has an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash. The camera doubles as a camcorder and it enables you to record and play back in full 1080p high definition at 30 frames per second.

With the Samsung Galaxy SII you can enjoy smooth and responsive web browsing and multi-tasking thanks to its powerful 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It additional makes high performance gaming and fast image editing possible, along with fast encoding and decoding of your movies, for maximum enjoyment.

Navigating Android and Samsung's TouchWiz interface has been simplified with the addition of four key hubs; the Games, Readers, Music and Social hubs. These incorporate various key applications and features to make finding what you need to use or download just that much easier.

The Samsung Galaxy S II has been optimised to access enterprise resources on a Microsoft Exchange server securely, including availability of business email, calendar, contacts and task synchronisation. This makes the SII an excellent phone for work as well as play.

The HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio is £492 including VAT, from Clove Technology.
The Samsung Galaxy is £418.80 including VAT.
