Nagra’s OpenTv Participate™ Gives Audiences A Voice In The Content Strategy Discussion At M.I.S.
Attendees of Pivotal Media Strategies Conference to Interactively Engage with Session Speakers and Content via NAGRA’s OpenTV Participate Platform
NAGRA’s OpenTV Participate, now widely used in TV shows aired by NBC, USA, Bravo and other NBC Universal networks, will enable session audiences to engage and interact with senior industry executives via cell phones and tablets. Comments and poll results displayed on the big screens at MIS will provide audience members and speakers alike a continuous feedback loop to enliven the conversations with much broader perspective on topics.

NBC Universal has used Participate to aggregate and deliver comments and polling results in live broadcasts of shows such as NBC’s “The Voice,” “Heroes” and the 2010 Winter Olympics, USA’s “Burn Notice,” Bravo’s “Top Chef” and Oxygen’s “Bad Girls of Miami.” The server-based Participate system can process thousands of transactions per second in real time. This allows a personalized interactive experience to be delivered to the widest possible audience by broadcasting the call to action over the air to all viewers and allowing them to interact by whatever means is available to them: smartphone, tablet, computer or set-top-box. Participate does not require embedding of special client software on set-tops or other devices. It provides the backend support for collecting responses simultaneously from all chosen platforms, triggering calls to action on air, integrating graphics and text with live program feeds and managing respondent data capture for CRM campaign purposes.
