Nov. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Just days after welcoming residents to its new building there’s another cause for celebration at the Moat House in Great Dunmow.

Leah Dayes, the Moat House’s activity organiser has reached the finals of the Great South East Care Awards.

Leah has been shortlisted in the Care Home Activity Organiser category and now faces a gruelling interview process by judges.

Leah is responsible for organising a calendar of activities for the residents of the Moat House. Working with them she holds craft afternoons, pamper sessions, gardening groups, talks, entertainment evenings and a host of other events.

And her commitment and dedication has earned her a finalist’s place in the prestigious awards. The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony later this month.

Paul Walsh is the Managing Director of the Care and Operations Division of Retirement Villages Ltd, the company which owns the Moat House. He said: “Leah is a dedicated, conscientious and talented member of the team. She has a wonderful relationship with the residents and is always keen to help them take up new hobbies or reignite an interest in something they may have done years ago. We are delighted her commitment has been recognised in this way.”

Retirement Villages Ltd has been developing and managing bespoke lifestyle and care villages for the over 55s for 30 years. The pioneers of the UK model, the company now has approaching 2,000 residents living in 13 locations spread across 10 counties in the south of the country.
