Nov. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Tampa, FL – The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) has created a virtual gathering place for people to share their views on regional transportation issues, traffic conditions and commuting in the Tampa Bay area.

The Transportation Lounge website (www.transportationlounge.com) allows registered users to post comments, ask questions, respond to others’ posts and link information to their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The site has a video library of transportation-related videos, a map of current traffic conditions, TBARTA Facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as other transportation-related social media postings.

Users, as well as other transportation agencies, may also post articles or photos related to transportation and links to other transportation-related sites, events and meetings.

“Our goal is to stimulate discussion and ideas related to the transportation issues facing our region,’’ said TBARTA Executive Director Bob Clifford. “More and more people are turning to the web and social media to share their views and opinions. We want to use every form of media to engage the public and continue the conversation on regional transportation.’’

The Transportation Lounge was created three years ago as a way to inform the public about important transportation issues and create a forum for discussion of transportation problems and potential solutions. The site has recently been updated and improved with new content and functionality.
