WWA is Fastest Growing Quantity Surveying Practice in South West

Ward Williams Associates (WWA) has achieved a Top 10 ranking in Building magazine’s annual survey.  Headquartered in Truro, with offices around the UK including Bristol and Plymouth, WWA is the 9th fastest growing construction company in the UK, and the fastest growing quantity surveying practice in the South West.

Last year WWA was the UK’s 11th fastest growing consultancy.  This past year’s 29.50% growth is all the more remarkable when viewed in light of the challenging economic climate.  The construction industry is widely acknowledged to be facing its three most difficult years in recent history.

WWA also secured a Top 50 place in the Top Surveyors rankings, having moved from 55th in 2010 to 45th this year.  Overall, the practice has improved its position within the Building magazine survey from 136th to 113th.

Some of this success can be attributed to experience specifically gained from working in the South West, as Managing Director Andy Snapes explains.

“The South West is one of the most challenging areas for construction and is an excellent learning ground.  It rewards companies like WWA where lessons learnt here have really helped us to deal with the current tough economy.”

Ongoing partnerships play a significant part of the practice’s strong growth.  WWA secures repeat business by retaining its clients and has long term partners that include Cornwall Council, Pendennis Shipyard/Superyachts, the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, Montgomery Property Group and Rowe Property Developments.  

Andy goes on to explain that WWA’s commitment to what has been coined as ‘Intelligent Direction’ is another key factor in the practice’s success over the last year.

“Our directors are involved at every stage of a project and services are tailored to the specific job.  There is no ‘one size fits all’ and the personal service that we deliver makes a significant difference to the projects.  We retain our staff and continue to bring new people in with fresh outlooks.  It’s for reasons like this that we are chosen by household names such as Rolls Royce, Wimbledon, Sainsburys and the Eden Project.”
