Thorn Run Partners Adds Senior Republican Lobbyist, Catherine Finley

Thorn Run Partners announced today the addition of its newest partner to join the team, Catherine Finley.  Founded in 2010, Thorn Run Partners has quickly grown from two to seven senior level lobbyists and today boasts one of the Capitol’s leading health policy practices.

Finley will bring over 15 years of federal policy experience to Thorn Run Partners as both a former senior health policy staffer and lobbyist.  On Capitol Hill, Finley served as Staff Director to former Chairman Gordon H. Smith (R-OR) on the Senate Special Committee on Aging where she also directed his work on the Senate Finance and HELP Committees.  Prior to her work for the Aging Committee, Finley was the Senior Health Policy Advisor to Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME).  Before working for Senator Snowe, Finley served on the legislative staff of former Senator Mike DeWine (R-OH).

Finley also has extensive state-level experience serving as Health Policy Director for four years at the Southern Governors Association, as well as in the policy office of Governor George W. Bush and as a Legislative Assistant on the Senate Health and Human Services Committee in the Texas State Legislature.  After leaving Capitol Hill, Finley worked at Capitol Counsel, LLC.

Finley’s practice is focused on issues related to Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, mental health policy and managed care related matters.

Founded in January, 2010 by veteran lobbyists Andy Rosenberg and Chris Lamond, who previously served as staffers to Senators Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA) and Fred Thompson (R-TN), respectively, Thorn Run Partners is a full service government relations firm with offices in Washington, Los Angeles, and Portland, Oregon.  The firm draws its name from Rosenberg’s farm located in New Creek, West Virginia.
