The Thompson Organization Donates over 200 New Winter Coats to Local Children in Need

The Thompson Organization delivered more than 200 new winter coats to Tabor Children’s Services and Children and Youth Social Services in Doylestown. The coats were part of The Driving Away the Cold Campaign.
 
Nov. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The Thompson Organization delivered more than 200 new winter coats to Tabor Children’s Services and Children and Youth Social Services, both in Doylestown. The coats were part of Driving Away the Cold, organized by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation and Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia.  

“The Thompson Organization is proud to have been able to participate in such a great program,” says John Thompson, Vice President of The Thompson Organization, “We are so grateful to have been able to directly touch the lives of the local children and to fulfill a need so basic that many take for granted.”

For more than 100 years, Tabor Children’s Services has been a multi-service child welfare agency, serving children, youth, young adults and families with locations in Doylestown and Philadelphia. Their mission is simple…”Keeping Children Safe…Strengthening Families…Promoting Independence.”

“On behalf of Tabor's social workers, who work daily to ensure that the children receiving our services are cared for, thank you to the Thompson Organization and the members of the community who supported the Driving Away the Cold program,” says Chief Development Officer of Tabor Children’s Services, Ariana Burrows, “You are helping Tabor ensure that children are safe and have a chance for better lives.”

The Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency holds the official regulatory responsibility for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in Bucks County. The agency provides a variety of services to local children and families which aim to reduce dependency, strengthen family life and promote family stability.

“We are incredibly thankful for these coats. We have lots of kids to take care of here,” shares Lynne Rainey, Director of Children and Youth Social Services Agency, “Thank you so much Thompson!

Driving Away the Cold is a philanthropic program started in January of 2008. This year Thompson was one of 163 participating dealerships that pledged to donate a brand new winter coat to a child in need for each vehicle sold during the month of September resulting in a total of 22,548 coats donated this year.
