A United Identity for Occupy Wall Street

Nov. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Protesters have united in most major cities nationwide, yet there remains a lack of central unity among these growing groups. William McMillian, Principal and Creative Director and Lindsay Giuffrida, Art Director created a unique identity to streamline the message among all Occupy Movement protesters around the nation.

As a New Yorker and a small-business owner, McMillian has become quite familiar with the Occupy Wall Street movement and with protesters who have been camped out in New York’s financial district for over a month. In speaking with these NYC protesters and hearing about other Occupy Movements going on around the country, McMillian and Giuffrida were inspired to create a visual identity that could unite these national groups and be directly associated with the Occupy Wall Street protests.

McMillian and Giuffrida at McMillian + Furlow quickly came together to bridge the disconnect between groups who have assembled all over the nation and are supporting the same cause. They have created a symbol with distinct meaning and which protesters have already begun to adopt and associate with the Occupy Movement. McMillian’s symbol includes a large “O”, with images of protesters joining together, united in red to symbolize passion and determination for their cause.

McMillian and Giuffrida have created posters and buttons with this symbol for distribution among all protesters to unite their cause.
