Former President Bill Clinton lose 24 pounds weight on vegan diet

Bill Clinton ex US president has shared his secret of how he lost 24 lb on plant based diet.
 
Nov. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Anybody can lose weight in a safe and in a healthy way and all one needs is strong determination and healthy food habits.

Former US president Bill Clinton explained how he lost 24 lb of his body weight on plant based diet. President Clinton opted for a plant-based low-fat diet, free of dairy or meat to fight against his heart disease and he lost the extra weight as a bonus.

"I went on essentially a plant-based diet," he said. "I live on beans, legumes, vegetables, fruit. I drink a protein supplement every morning - no dairy, I drink almond milk mixed in with fruit and a protein powder so I get the protein for the day when I start the day up."

A typical lunch is bean chili with tortillas, pea guacamole and salad plus fruit, while dinner might be ratatouille with polenta and lentil and green salad.

President Clinton does not touch meat of any kind and it has really helped him. He said he had lost 24lbs [1st, 10lbs] and was the same weight he had been at school.

"I thought that, well, since I needed to lose a little weight for Chelsea's wedding, I'll become part of this experiment," he said. "I'll see if I can be one of those that can have a self-clearing mechanism."

The healthy diet is a balanced diet, contain foods from all the food groups, low in saturated fat and refined sugar, and moderate in protein. Vegetables and fruit, component of vegan diet in particular, are essential for efficient metabolism and a healthy body weight.
