Key West, FL – Tuesday, November 01, 2011 – This week, casting directors from Chicago-based Pub Theater Co., in conjunction with Highway Key Touring, will be hosting follow-up auditions for “Bye Bye Liver: The Key West Drinking Play.” The sketch comedy revue is scheduled to begin rehearsal the 2nd week in November, immediately after casting. The show will debut at The Hog’s Breath Saloon upstairs cabaret at 400 Front Street in Key West. A mid-December opening date is pending announcement.
Initial auditions, conducted in Key West in early-October, recruited some of the islands’ great comedic talent. Now the Pub Theater Co. is seeking two-to-three females and one male between the ages of 21 and 35 to round out the ensemble cast. Experience in comedy or other theater is preferred. Ensemble members are paid per performance with weekend availability required.

“Bye Bye Liver” (BBL) is a high-energy, interactive celebration of adult beverages and the people who enjoy them. Employing local players, BBL customizes its grab bag of material to exemplify local bar culture. While the environment embraces large parties of ‘alcohol- aficionados,’
Shows vary weekly, drawing from a large playbook of sketches and drinking games originally synthesized by Chicago-based playwright Byron Hatfield in 2006. In the years since, BBL has tapped into an ever-growing base of creative minds to tweak and refine content over the course of 1000’s of performances in six cities.
After announcing an initial run of approximately 16 winter dates, the Pub Theater hopes to extend BBL in Key West for as long as laughter and booze go hand in hand. With productions running concurrently in Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, St. Paul, Toronto and Philadelphia, the show has never retired a city after opening. Other prospects for expansion in the near future include Boston, Kansas City and Nashville.
