Oct. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Do you live a tough, demanding lifestyle for which you need a smartphone that is durable and up to the challenge, but still looks fantastic? The Motorola DEFY Plus and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active are two such smartphones, designed to live up to all the rigours of an active modern life.

The Motorola DEFY Plus is the next generation of the famously 'life-proof' Motorola DEFY. It keeps the robust design of its big brother but has boosted things under the surface, most notably the inclusion of the latest Android operating system, Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is also packing Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It comes with a great range of features including a touch screen that can cope with wet conditions, and it also has packaged with it some great accessories – a stereo headset with attachable ear grips, wrist and arm straps, meaning it is easy to take it with you if you're off for a run or a trek.

Resistant to both dust and water, the Motorola DEFY Plus has an IP67 protection rating – meaning it is a true tough guy. The inclusion of Corning Gorilla Glass also ensures that the 3.7 inch display is resistant to scratches, providing peace of mind when you're out and about with your phone. http://www.clove.co.uk/motorola-defy-plus

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is also resistant to water and dust, but its wet finger tracking is the most notable feature. Even on a soggy weekend camping trip, you'll be able to keep yourself entertained by accessing your contacts, games and videos with the touch of one wet finger.

The DEFY Plus is the same size and weight as the original DEFY (59 x 107 x 13.40mm and 118g), but does come equipped with a higher capacity battery of 1700mAh, and an improved 1GHz processor.

Meanwhile, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active measures 92 x 55 x 16.5mm and 110.8g.
Both smartphones have 5 megapixel cameras that provide great pictures – even in tough conditions.

You can buy the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active for £240 including VAT and the Motorola DEFY Plus for £246, both from Clove Technology.
