Oct. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Newberg, OR – Oregon artist, illustrator and art teacher Elizabeth Berg is offering customized private art classes for individuals who want to develop their own product lines, illustrate their books, or expand their artistic self expression.  Her online portfolio at http://Elizabeth-Berg.com offers a view of the wide range of styles and techniques that she can offer.  Prospective art students who live near Portland, or who are planning a visit to the area, can design their own private artist retreat with Elizabeth in painting, Asian style brush work, drawing, sculpting, art history, collage or other mediums of their choice.

Her professional accomplishments range from commercial art and concept designs (logos, labels and package design), to book and magazine covers and illustrations, to fine art and custom murals for private collections.  She enjoys teaching art to beginners as well as advanced students.  She's equally adept at helping accomplished artists improve their techniques, add new tools to their repertoire and expand their self expression.

"My approach is to become a personal guide to assist students in expressing their concepts with an empowering sense of confidence. Together we can design a personal artist retreat to work on whatever they choose, whether it's their own product line of greeting cards, dolls or toys; or illustrations for personal correspondence, a manuscript or a series of children's books," said Elizabeth.

Her online portfolio at http://elizabeth-berg.com/illustrations/watch-me-work/ offers a glimpse into her own artistic process, as well as examples and instructions to spark ideas and help people get started on the path toward their projects. Elizabeth wrote most of the information on the website, so students interested in taking private art instruction  can also get a sense of her personality, and an idea of her exceptional ability to communicate verbally – a talent that eludes many visuals artists, but which is essential for Elizabeth's unique approach to art instruction.

"There's really no limit regarding experience level or age.  My youngest student is 3, and my oldest is 88.  I love working with individuals because I can get to know them as a person and help them discover and refine their unique forms of artistic expression.  I prefer teaching one-on-one or in small groups," said Elizabeth.

"Beginners can become easily intimidated or get left behind when there are too many people in an art class.  And accomplished artists often get ignored, which is just as unfortunate. So private art classes are an ideal solution.   I keep the class size small so that each student gets individual attention and support, and can make rapid progress toward their goals," she added.
