Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series® Registration Now Open for 2012

Oct. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- SEATTLE, Wash. – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the ongoing fight against breast cancer, registration is now open for the 2012 Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series®. The 2012 Romp to Stomp marks the tenth year for the series which has raised over $1.7 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. With seven event sites across the country, Tubbs Snowshoes invites Rompers and Stompers of all levels and ages to join in the fun of the largest snowshoe series in North America.

Record breaking participation and fundraising over the past few seasons has made the Romp to Stomp snowshoe series a highly anticipated event, drawing snowshoers from near and far. The 2011 season saw over 6,200 participants and raised over $450,000 for breast cancer education and research. This year, in celebration of the tenth season, everyone who registers for one of the 2012 USA Romp events by November 15, 2011 will be automatically entered to win a pair of the Limited Edition Pink Romp to Stomp Wilderness Snowshoes from Tubbs.

Tubbs Romp to Stomp encourages kids to get involved as well. New this season, awards will be given for top fundraising amongst the Lil Rompers. The Lil Romper program includes a discounted registration fee for kids ages 6-12 and free registration for Lil Bitty Rompers 0-5.Each event will feature goodie bags for all participants, a sweepstakes, a breast cancer survivor tribute, and top fundraising prizes from Tubbs Snowshoes and other Romp to Stomp sponsors.

Free demo snowshoes will be offered by Tubbs on a first-come, first-serve basis, and participants can choose from a 3k or 5k snowshoe walk or a 3k snowshoe race in the following locations:

January 21: Mt. Bachelor, OR
January 28: Stratton Mountain Resort, Stratton, VT
January 28: Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, MN
February 4: The Stevens Pass Nordic Center, WA
February 11: Round Valley Trails at Quinn’s Junction, Park City, UT
March 3: Frisco Nordic Center, Frisco, CO

Registration for the Romp to Stomp events is now open, snowshoers can jump online for the special “Early Bird” rate and save up to $15 off of registration fees. Those who want to get involved but can’t make the event can register for “Virtual Snowshoer” – a fun way to fundraise and feel part of the Romp.
