Oct. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- The Association of Early Learning Coalitions awarded Florida Representative, Denise Grimsley, their “Early Learning Champion Award”.

Representative Grimsley, whose district covers Hendry, Glades, Collier, and Highland counties, is a strong advocate for children, families and early learning issues.  She has worked tirelessly at the local and state level in a variety of public service positions to ensure good outcomes for children.  During the 2011 Legislative Session, Representative Grimsley was instrumental in ensuring a good transition for early learning services as changes were made to agency structures.

Representative Grimsley recognizes the role of early learning to ensuring the future economic success of Florida and the importance of providing high quality early learning to all children.

“Representative Grimsley is a champion for children," says Roseann Fricks, Chair of the Association of Early Learning Coalitions and Executive Director of the Early Learning Coalition of Marion.  “By striving to address children’s issues, especially in troubling economic times, Representative Grimsley has proven herself as someone to be admired and emulated.  The “Early Learning Champion Award” recognizes all the hard work Representative Grimsley has done for families and children of this state.”  Warren Eldridge, Chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach, and Alisa Ghazvini, staff to the Association of Early Learning Coalitions, presented the award to Representative Grimsley.

The Association of Early Learning Coalitions is a non-profit organization composed of leadership from the state’s 31 separate Early Learning Coalitions that cover Florida’s 67 counties.  The Association aims to bring the coalitions and the state together to achieve an integrated, comprehensive system of early care and education across Florida by promoting services of the highest quality, advocating for all of Florida’s children and their families, and supporting one another’s professional growth.
