Oct. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Author has just written a new historical novel that encompasses one of the oldest recorded legends in Kentucky. The novel entitled "Swift" is about modern day treasure hunters who make a discovery of a lifetime but not without the high price of tragedy and murder. "Swift" is based on the Legend of John Swift’s Lost Silver Mines of Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Author and retired state park employee, Ed Henson says the book is the result of a
lifetime of collecting stories and information about both historic places and the famous
legend.

“The fact that history records Daniel Boone and other historic figures in Kentucky around the same time as this legend first appears, simply begs to be woven into a story,” says Henson.

Henson noted that many people have searched for the treasure over the years and there have been other books written about the legend, but believes this is the first historic fictional novel on the subject. The New York Times carried an article in 1896 saying the treasure had been discovered in Kentucky. Even before that, in 1886, the legend was mentioned in Harper’s Monthly Magazine.

Henson will be visiting bookstores, events and civic groups for book signings and talks about his book and the Legend of John Swift. "Swift" is available on line at http://edhensonbooks.com/ and in most bookstores.
