Royal Brunei Airlines Selects CTC Aviation to Select and Train New Cadet Pilots

Seven young Bruneians signed agreements on 12 October to join Royal Brunei Airlines’ 41st Cadet Pilot intake.

Oct. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- A signing ceremony to commemorate the start of their aviation careers was held at the Muhibah Room, Royal Brunei Recreation Club with senior representatives of Royal Brunei and their chosen training provider, CTC Aviation, attending the ceremony.

The cadets, Abdul Mateen bin Haji Abdul Rahim, Chong Woon Fah, Hj Muhd Adzim Anwaruddin bin Hj Shariffudin, Muhd Khairul 'Amileen bin Dato Paduka Hj Sulaiman, Nichollas Tat Soon Liew, Jasper Wong Hong Kai, Mohammad Syazwi bin Shahif, were selected from 340 applicants who took part in the programme’s intensive and comprehensive screening process that included a series of tests administered by RBA and CTC Aviation. At the end of their frozen Air Transport Pilot License (APTL) training with CTC Aviation, the cadet pilots will be qualified under Joint Aviation Authority Commercial Pilots License/ Instrument Rating.

Deputy Chairman, Dermot Mannion, signed the training agreements on behalf of the airline along with Captain Khalidkhan Hj Asmakhan, Acting Head of Flight Operations, and Acting Deputy Chief Operation Officer, Aji Puteh.

The Cadet Signing Ceremony was also attended by Deputy Director of Scholarships, Haji Azis Bin Haji Nayan, and other officials from the Ministry of Education.

The Cadet Pilot programme is fully supported by His Majesty’s Government through the Scholarship Section at the Ministry of Education. The Cadet Pilot Training scheme is designed to equip young Bruneians with the skills, academic qualifications and flying hours experience required to join Royal Brunei Airlines as a First Officer.

Dermot Mannion, stated, “We are proud to welcome these seven cadets into the RBA family. We wish them all success as they further their studying and train as a pilot who will one day represent the airline as they bring Brunei to the rest of the world.”

During the event, a signing was also held between Royal Brunei Airlines and CTC Aviation as part of an agreement for CTC to ensure the Cadet Pilots receive the necessary ground and flying skills.
