Ocean County Realtors® Show Support for Blind Dogs’ Benefit Dinner

Century 21® Pacesetter Realtors® of Ocean County are supporting Blind Dog Rescue Alliance in its first annual Benefit Dinner on Saturday, November 12 at the Ocean Acres Country Club in Manahawkin, NJ.

Oct. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- FORKED RIVER, NJ (Oct. 24, 2011) –  Realtors® work to buy and sell houses, but understand well that their clients houses become homes through family, friends, and many times, pets too.  That’s just one reason why Century 21® Pacesetter Realtors® of Ocean County are supporting Blind Dog Rescue Alliance (BDRA) in its first annual Benefit Dinner on Saturday, November 12 at the Ocean Acres Country Club in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Open to the public with pre-purchased tickets, the Benefit Dinner will be from 6 pm through 10 pm.  Guests will savor a three-course meal and open bar, as they enjoy music, dancing, chance at raffle baskets, and learning just a little bit more about some amazing dogs.

BDRA began its rescue work in August 2009. Since then, the 100%, volunteer-based dog rescue group has saved and re-homed more than 175 dogs of all breeds and mixes across North America. The Alliance’s mission is to rescue blind and visually impaired dogs, whether from age, injury, or genetic disorder, and seek out permanent homes.

“The medical bills of the Alliance’s dogs can be quite expensive,” notes BDRA Volunteer, BDRA Fundraising Coordinator, and Century 21® Pacesetter Realty agent Steven W. Marsh. “Prescriptions, multiple or ongoing veterinarians visits, and surgeries are commonplace with the eye issues we see on a daily basis. So, it is easy to see that fundraising is critical for the Rescue to continue its mission.”

All rescued BDRA dogs are fostered in independent, volunteer homes until permanent or “forever” homes can be found. The dogs are often inspiring to all who meet them. Most blind and visually impaired dogs do just fine, adapting quickly to their lack of visual sense and enjoy their lives, playing like other dogs and being a part of their families.

“When people meet my blind dog IZ, they almost always make the same comment, ‘He’s blind? I would never have known’”, states Marsh.

To attend the fundraiser dinner, tickets must be purchased by November 4. To order online, visit www.BlindDogRescue.org/ordertickets.html or contact Steve Marsh by emailing Homes@Steve-Marsh.com.

Tickets are $35 each. All proceeds of this fundraising benefit go directly to the care of the Alliance’s foster dogs.

Century 21® Pacesetter Realty of Ocean County and Third Generation Mortgage are co-sponsoring the open bar for the evening’s dinner. New Jersey Home Inspections is sponsoring the music by DJ Jim.
