Participants will be arriving or saluting veterans in warbirds, homebuilts, antiques and classics.
By: WATHEN FOUNDATION @ HISTORIC FLABOB AIRPORT Hosted by the Wathen Foundation, which owns Flabob Airport, the schedule includes static displays, up to three bands and a wide range of hands-on activities for children and adults. The Army will be back with special displays, scaling walls and simulators. Large numbers of antique and classic automobiles are expected to attend. Exhibitions by martial arts experts, musicians and comedians will provide continuous entertainment at the central stage that is erected for the day. The theme of the day is recognition of veterans and the contributions they have made to our freedom in America. A special ceremony at noon will recognize their contributions and sacrifices, which will be followed by the annual parade featuring all veterans in attendance. An added attraction will be airplane rides. People can buy tickets to take a flight in an N3N or J-3 Cub. The Chapter One Hangar of the Experimental Aircraft Association will be used for a number of displays. This year, the Wathen Foundation is seeking sponsors for the event to cover some of the costs for the event. Several levels of sponsor participation are available.
