Apposite Releases Two New WAN Emulation Models

Netropy and Linktropy WAN emulators simulate bandwidth, latency, packet loss, and other important network impairments to test the performance of applications in the lab. Apposite’s trademark ease of use and configuration flexibility facilitate testing of performance across any type of wide area network to inform vendor selection, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of the many applications enterprises depend on to run their operations.

The new Linktropy 8500 model simulates four individual WAN links of up to 1 Gbps each through four pairs of Ethernet ports. Linktropy emulators are designed for maximum simplicity and ease-of-use, and can be installed and configured in minutes.

The new Netropy N90 model offers four gigabit-speed emulation engines, each of which can simulate up to fifteen separate virtual WAN links through a pair of physical Ethernet ports. Packets can be assigned to different WAN links by IP address range, VLAN, or any other packet identifier, allowing simulation of complex network configurations. Netropy products also include additional emulation and management functionality to meet the needs of advanced users.

Both the Netropy N90 and Linktropy 8500 offer full line rate capacity of 1 Gbps across all eight ports for a total aggregate throughput of 8 Gbps and a packet processing rate of approximately 12 million packets per second. Both models are available with either copper RJ45 or fiber SFP gigabit Ethernet ports.

For users who do not immediately require full gigabit-speed emulation, both products are available in lower-cost versions of 10 Mbps, 45 Mbps, or 100 Mbps. The products can be upgraded later if simulation of higher speed links is ever needed.

Both the Netropy N90 and Linktropy 8500 are available now for immediate delivery, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $22,500 depending on model and emulation speed.
