Oct. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- (DALLAS, Texas) October 24, 2011 — If there’s one thing One Arts Plaza does exceptionally well, it’s design. Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, One Arts Plaza is a designer destination for upscale urban living, dining, business and entertainment.

So when it was time to decorate two model condo units to show off what One Arts living can be, parent real estate company Billingsley chose Gonzalo Bueno and Brant McFarlain, both celebrated designers with a flair for flair.

Both of the designers used original art pieces from developer Lucy Billingsley’s private collection as they each transformed one of only six remaining high-rise condos creating two unique and luxurious spaces.

Unit 2206, the newly decorated space by Gonzalo Bueno, is a chic yet cozy two bedroom space that highlights luxury finishes with exotic touches and bursts of color.

“The unit is not serious; it’s comfortable, fun, dramatic, and a little over the top,” says Bueno. “We just want you to walk in there and feel like you’re in a cool, different space with unique combinations of textures and materials that are unexpected but work together cohesively.”

Designer touches include a selenite crystalline mineral chandelier, vintage 1960s mahogany dining chairs, burnt orange metallic wall coverings and a custom sofa made with vivid fabrics.

“Both Gonzalo and McFarlain’s design work is sophisticated yet dramatic, and it really sells the space and shows what’s possible,” says Billingsley. “We were very impressed with their talent and ability to create such a customized feel and style that is so welcoming and vibrant.”

Designer Brant McFarlain had a dramatic vision in mind as he designed the 1,749-square-foot Unit 1810, which possesses an unobstructed view of Northeast Dallas and boasts two large terraces complete with built-in speakers and a fireplace. McFarlain used contrasting colors of light and dark to bring his residential condo to life. Seagrass-limestone-floors, museum-polished- walls and recessed-aluminum-baseboards set a perfect backdrop for the contemporary living space. The mood continues into the master bedroom and bath which offers a spacious closet and indulgent soak tub.

“I wanted to break typical stereotypes of modern interiors,” explains McFarlain. “I refinished vintage furniture with luxurious and textural fabrics and mixed in modern art pieces and current designed furniture to create a sophisticated, inviting environment that is both understated and bold.”
