ImaniLia Designs Based Out of Harlem New York
Oct. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Chicago, Il October 22, 2011 - Nigeria’s emerging songstress of Jton Records Retta, was spotted wearing Harlem based fashion designer Imani Whyte, of ImaniLia Designs in her new music video ‘Tomorrow’. The ‘Jess Jacket’ is derived from ImaniLia Designs 2009 collection.

Imani Whyte is no amateur to the fashion industry. Whyte’s fashions have been spotted in Natalie Stewart (formerly the Floecist of the British R&B duo Floetry) featuring Musiq Soulchild video, ‘Forever.’ Following this further, ImaniLia Designs has been seen during Philadelphia and New Orleans fashion week, as well as many runways shows across the United States. The Harlem native is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA.

ImaniLia Designs 2009 collection was inspired by C.S Lewis’classic children’s literature, The Chronicles of Narnia and the 1950’s fashion era. Whyte combined her brands’ signature elegance with a more futuristic but modern vibe to create an eclectic collection. The ‘Jess Jacket’ featured in the video is made of 100% silk taffeta.
