World Famous Speakers Address CCME Conference 14 and 16 February 2012

Sir John Daniel, President of Commonwealth of Learning (www.col.org) will join us on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 to open our symposium. Sir John became President of Commonwealth of Learning in 2004 after gaining wide international experience in universities and the United Nations System. Following the completion of his university education in Metallurgy at Oxford and Paris, he demonstrated his commitment to lifelong learning by studying part-time for 25 years to complete a Master’s degree in Educational Technology at Concordia University. He held senior positions at the Télé-université, Athabasca University, Concordia University, Laurentian University, the UK Open University and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Sir John was knighted by Queen Elizabeth for services to higher education in 1994 and holds 30 honorary doctorates from universities in 17 countries.
Among Sir John’s 300 publications are his books Mega-Universities and Knowledge Media: Technology Strategies for Higher Education (Kogan Page, 1996), and Mega-Schools, Technology and Teachers: Achieving Education for All (Routledge, 2010).

Dan Clark will join us on Thursday afternoon, February 16, 2012 to close the symposium. Many of you know Dan as the primary contributing author to the Chicken Soup for the Soul series and author of Chicken Soup for the College Soul. He is also author of the highly acclaimed business leadership book, Forgotten Fundamentals, and the inspirational Puppies for Sale that was made into a film at Paramount Studios starring Jack Lemmon.
Dan is a graduate of the Executive Program at both Air University in Montgomery, Alabama, and the Army War College in Carlisle, PA. His long list of appearances in the military environment includes the Air Force Four Star General’s Corona Leadership Conference, Air Force General’s Commanders Conferences throughout the world, Army General Walter Sharp’s Conference in Korea, the Air Force Academy’s Character and Leadership Development Symposium, the National Conference on Ethics at West Point, Tech training schools at Keesler and Sheppard AFB, Ft. Hood, Ft. Bragg and Ft. Jackson, as well as officer schools for Majors, Colonels and Generals. He has spoken to over 4,000 audiences and more than 3 1⁄2 million people in all 50 states and 35 countries, and to our combat troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dan currently serves on the Chief of Staff of the Air Force National Civil Leaders Board.
