Atlanta Hawks’Damien Wilkins Hosts Successful Game Day At Hill Street Boys & Girls Club Durin

Oct. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Atlanta Hawks’ center Damien Wilkins geared up for a different type of game day at the Hill Street Boys & Girl Club in Atlanta on October 18, 2011.   Damien partnered with DTLR for a day of fun and mentoring.

The Game Day itinerary included mentoring, game stations, and an autograph session.  The interactive program gave participants a chance to hear the challenges Damien overcame to reach success, and got great tips about academic success, healthy lifestyles, and leadership development.  Celebrity barber Bobby Henderson was on hand for free haircuts and AmeriGroup provided child health information to parents and snacks.

"I can truly say that the Boys & Girls Club saved my life and help me to reach my goals," says Damien, "I want to have the opportunity to have the same impact on someone who may be going through a similar situation.  This Game Day was the perfect opportunity to do just that!"


The outstanding forward is known for his athletic ability and his family lineage which includes NBA players but Damien has quietly and consistently been active in giving back to his community since the beginning of his NBA career.  He is heavily involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs initiatives and internationally with Save the Children.
